![]() Is your bunny craving a new chew toy? Don't know which one to get him/her? Well I have some great product reviews done by my bun, Bauer! His favorite toys are the ones he can chew, as I'm sure any buns are!! He typically goes for the ones made of straw, but I have some great examples of some of his favorites! His most favorite chew toy (ever! ha) has to be his multi-colored wooden ball toy with a peanut inside (makes noise when he rolls or tosses it). I bought this toy not knowing it was going to be such a huge success, but even 3 weeks later he won't put it down! I have had another ball with a bell inside that provided a very similar function, however it is made of plastic and hard to grab- the new toy is made of wood and is small enough for him to be able to bite with his teeth and throw. I bought it at a small local pet shop for approximately $6 (I have not seen this at big box stores)- this one was worth every penny! I want to post a video of him playing with this toy soon! Ok, his second favorite toy is his large straw hut. He likes it because it provides him a hiding place, while at the same time a toy that he can shred (pictures are included below in order of mention). The straw hut he has (and he has gone through many of them!) cost about $16.99 at the local big box store, but you can find it online on sale for around $12 you just have to google the toys name and it will come up with a listing of prices :). This straw hut is cute because it has a ball hanging at the entrance that Bauer loves to play with (then chew off- of course!) and little shapes on the top of the hut, which of course provide another chew toy for our buns to rip off! I would guess my bunny rips it all apart in about 1-3 weeks, then its time for a new one! Ok, his third favorite chew toy is definitely his straw mat. I used to get the same straw that the hut was made out of, but I found that he chewed it up too easily and I was spending too much too frequently! So, I have recently switched to a mat I found online from a popular bunny toy store (message me for details if interested!). It is made out of natural sea grass and is a little bit softer material than the dry straw others are made of. It also ranges in price (I paid $8 for it), and I have not seen this in big box retailers. Note to my readers, just be careful if buying online- look at what the shipping cost will be in order to truly decide whats the best deal! I typically buy 2-3 of everything when I order online to avoid having to pay multiple shipping costs so frequently (and I still end up better off than having bought them at a local big box pet store!). Bauer's forth favorite chew toy is his chew "nest". It looks like a little basket without the handle. He loves to hop in and lay down in. Typically, he chews the sides off and then it looks like a mat! That is offered in big box stores for approximately $10, and again I am sure if you google the product you may be able to find it cheaper online- just be careful of shipping I can't say that enough! Bauer of course has many, many other chew toys- but those are his top favorites! Some of his other chew toys include his: flip-n-toss carrot, natural lava rock (which gets much use too- great for his teeth), natural lots-o-loops toss toy, wooden flexible logs, kabob toy, alfalfa tunnel hay, willow branch ball, natural sisal carrot toy, and even a grass stuffed hay tube. With the exception of the lava rock, the toys in the list of "other chew toys" don't get that much attention from Bauer. Very spoiled buns need many chew toys to keep them entertained!! Hope this has helped guide which chew toys to get your fluffers!!! :)) Definitely check out the wooden ball with peanut inside- instant success! See you next week!
